We provide consultation to Universities and Colleges, software companies, and service providers who are committed to fostering a higher quality of life to students with disabilities. We specialize in projects involving autism spectrum disorders, executive learning deficits, and learning differences. Our services range from direct assistance, such as our peer mentorship program, to conducting research for planning and evaluation grants. We also develop training materials and curricula towards disability awareness and intervention. In addition, we work with individual families to help them obtain appropriate educational placement and related services.
We work with attorneys to provide expert consultation and testimony on autism, developmental disabilities, transition, and special education.
Our client list spans private schools and universities, consultation under state and federal grants, and many individual families in the Philadelphia area. We are a registered vendor for the Philadelphia School District. We have worked with the Bureau of Autism Services, Eastern ASERT (Autism Services Education Research Training) program on college transition initiatives. Other clients have included the Y.A.L.E. schools of NJ, SCoRE (Student Curriculum on Resilence Education), the Methodist Children's House, and Law firms dealing with disabiity related issues.

Having developed a successful model of peer mentorship for college students with autism in the Drexel University DASP program, EdMent Consulting is expanding the DASP model to make it accessible to individual families.
Peer mentors are college students or recent graduates with an interest in working closely with students with disabilities to help them obtain objective and measurable goals towards self-efficacy, social success, indepence, and academic accomplishement. Mentors will have the opportunity to become more aware of and to embrace neurodiversity while gaining valuable experience that can be used in future careers. Mentors are not counselors or wrap-around staff -- rather they act as role models in a reciprocal relationship with mentees. Employer mentors are small business owners who would be interested in hiring a person with a disability well-matched to the employer's needs and tasks. The employer agrees to learn about how to accommodate the individual with disability from our professional staff. Employer mentors are compensated for their time training and supervising interns with disabilities during the employment period.
